Every aspect of this tour is simply fantastic! Most sites are well known, so there's no need to talk much about them, except that hitting the Grand Canyon at sunrise surely makes that experience even better than at more regular times of day. We visited 3 viewing sites on the south rim with very few people present, which made it a lot easier to take good photos. Even the stop in Seligman on Route 66 had many cool motivs for nice pictures. As an extra you might get to see some elch and deer along the way early morning.
The tour guide Michael had absolutely everything under control. There were rest stops at least every two hours with good facilities and great options for breakfast/lunch/dinner every time. Even with 14 people on our tour, the bus was very comfortable, snacks and drinks were provided, and there were even options to charge phones in the front and back. All sightseeing stops left enough time for photos etc. and I never felt rushed to get going.
The overnight stay was at the Red Feather Lodge in Tusayon just outside the Grand Canyon National Park. Given the location of this place, it naturally isn't cheap and so makes up for a big chunk of the overall cost of the tour, especially as a solo traveller. I had thought about renting a car and visiting the sites by myself, but I'm so glad I didn't. It was so nice not having to worry about where to go exactly and to just be taken to all these wonderful places, while having interesting and funny conversations along the way.
I had taken a tour of Bryce and Zion two days earlier with a different company which was also great, but on the organisational side it could not keep up with the way Michael and MaxTour carried it out.
Thank you for this wonderful experience!
