Having the fortuitous opportunity to experience a tour from the perspective of our clients, awesome! Walking into the Maverick Terminal on the Las Vegas strip, at the end of the runway on the McCarran Airport property, breathtaking! It must look even more amazing at night! Check-in was pleasant, and efficient. Our pilot was very thorough regarding the safety procedures & check. He (the pilot) was also extremely experienced, provided information beyond that of a typical "tour guide", had a great sense of humor and was an excellent host at the "Bluff" private landing area above the Colorado River. After our take-off from Las Vegas the initial views of the city are simply stunning: Lake Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam, expansive Lake Mead and Fortification Hill. As we approach the West rim we descend between the walls of the canyon and can see the Skywalk above. Our pilot shared so much knowledge with us about the major (not so well-known) sights on our trip to Grand Canyon as we arrived to the "Private Bluff;" where we shared a Champagne toast, cheese, a light snack, and re-hydrated! Again, our Pilot was very well prepared with extra ice cold waters as well as pre-packaged cold towels! We were there roughly 30 mins. before heading back up to the top to catch our shuttle to the "Skywalk!"
This is an incredible engineering marvel, the Skywalk, I recommend anyone to experience it at least once, coming from a person afraid of heights, I'd definitely do it again! This is a travel light-type situation, make sure you have sunscreen, phone/cameras are charged (though you cannot bring "onto" the actual Skywalk), you'll want to take lots of pictures; wear comfortable shoes, and neutral color clothes (for pics on the helicopter).
I am so excited for my next helicopter tour with Maverick Helicopters, I sat in the rear on the way to the Grand Canyon and could see great from my seat! The ECO-Stars are very comfortable, the windows provide excellent viewing and from the front seats... WOW!!! The pilot did an excellent balancing act to rotate the passengers so those who wanted to ride in the front had an opportunity to do so (even though I know that's not always feasible).
I see why so many people prefer Maverick Luxury Helicopter Experiences!
