We took the 4 night package, staying in Williams at the hotel for 1 night, train ride to Grand Canyon, 2 nights at Mawlik Lodge in the Grand Canyon, train from Grand Canyon back to Williams and then 1 night at the hotel. We enjoyed every minute. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean. Both rooms had refrigerators so we could store leftovers and keep our water cold. We ate 1 breakfast and 1 dinner at Paul Harvey Restaurant. The food was good and the servers couldn’t have been nicer! We took the train into and back from the Grand Canyon. The fee included snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages were available for a fee. On the way there, we rode in the luxury dome coach, Mary Colter. It was comfortable, with gorgeous views. The staff were personable, friendly and funny. The Mary Coulter was the last car so we were able to stand out on the back platform. On the way back we took a mid-range coach. The windows were large and our view was unobstructed. The hotel, restaurant and train all followed Covid restrictions and required everyone to wear a mask. We were very happy that we included the Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel as part of our trip to the Grand Canyon. We recommend it!

Many of the reviews talk about the upgraded train cars with servers and boxed lunches but I'm here to say say that we rode coach and had a great time! My husband (71) and I (59) drove to Williams, AZ the night before and stayed at the Grand Railway Hotel. The room was nice and clean and very covid friendly as was the entire hotel. We spent time in the little town of Williams with there shops and eateries. We grabbed a drink on Route 66 and bought some nice jewelry at a gallery. We ate dinner at the hotel's restaurant which was a buffet where they served you. It was buffet food but they had a nice selection for me (the dieter) and my husband who is not. They had a carving station and a pasta station. Desert was delicious I'm told. The next morning we ate breakfast at the same buffet and the omelet station was delicious. Coffee was great and the by the way the covid protocols were all in place. After watching the gun fight, which for 2 older adults was a little hokey, (the kids enjoyed it immensely), we boarded the train. We sat COACH, not the couches or plush seating but just the old time train seat which were very comfortable. The staggered our seats so we had no one in front, in back or to the side of us and everyone wore masks. We had a lovely ride to the Grand Canyon. Our psa was informative and very funny. We had to walk back 3 train cars to the cafe car where you could get beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. You then brought the items to your seat. It was a nice touch and the girl even gave me a cup of ice for my bottled water! We also enjoyed music for a bit with a gentleman and his guitar. We arrived at the Grand Canyon train depot which is right at the South Rim. We had three hours to enjoy the canyon which was just enough time. No shuttles buses were running so it gave us ample time to walk the rim and hike the Bright Angel Trail a little way down into the canyon. Definitely listen to your psa and stop at all the interesting places she points out. The Hopi House, and the Hotel were especially interesting. Along with more music and beer, the train ride back included a train robbery with the characters from the gun fight. It was very cute and the kids were enthralled. We drove back to Las Vegas that night. I would highly recommend this getaway!

Not happy! You will be disappointed as well. Do not go! We booked it a trip based on customer service stating some tours (donkey right and North rim). We arrived on a Friday late afternoon. We boarded at 9am Saturday morning. We thought animals or some sight seeing while on 2 hour train ride, NOTHING. Old boarded mobile homes and some new homes in between. Arrived at Grand Canyon. They didn't give us correct room key. NO Tours. NO Taxis. NO Shuttles. No nothing. Do not try eating a meal at only restaurant, 2 hour wait. Do step over the line in gallery, that will cost you $20 per person. We expressed our disappointment to management, forget it! We hopped back on train to Williams Arizona. We expressed again our dissatisfaction, nope no rooms - drive to Sedona Az !
