We spent half a day with canyon Dave and jake and another family and loved it. Their knowledge is the best. They make it very fun and personal for all. Their passion is evident. They will take u to some of the behind the scenes places at Grand Canyon, places you would not c otherwise such as almost 8000 ft above sitting in their lawn chairs watching the sunset over the canyon as u and your family r educated on all that is the Canyon on their level of understanding. Jake and Dave really care about u having an entertaining time. They picked us up at mcdonalds and even picked up other family at their close hotel. In their van u will drive to a few of the Canyon hot spots. They even supply snacks and we saw elk at the lodge. I didn't c our pic on Facebook but there r many others to check out so maybe I missed it. U should definitely go and u won't b disappointed. Thx Dave and Jake!

This is THE TOUR to book on the South Rim if you want a half day tour. We did a sunset tour from 3-7 PM, and although it was a cloudy day, the tour was fun, informative, leisurely and spectacular. Instead of being crammed into a crowded bus or jeep, we were in a comfortable van that could seat 12 people, but there were only 4 of us. Richard was our guide. He was incredibly informative and downright passionate about the Canyon and all its beauty and glory. He has hiked over 1000 miles of trails and knows all of the out of the way viewing venues and less crowded vantage points that offer unparalleled views and opportunities for a little history of the canyon and geology lesson. The history and geology part was about 20 minutes and was concise, accessible for lay people and complemented the enjoyment of the beauty of the canyon.He was flexible as far as where we wanted to go. If we wanted to get to a certain viewing point, or see a particular landmark, he would take us there. There was complimentary snacks, juices, and water. We saw a herd of elk at dusk and he took us where we could see lots of "mule" deer. This tour was recommended by another tour service that only offers tours of Sedona. It is much more personal and special than the Pink Jeep Tours (although we thoroughly enjoyed the Pink Jeep Tour of Sedona). The entire emphasis is not on driving madly through the crowds to see the most popular (and crowded) sites. The emphasis is on personal and personable service that helps you appreciate the magnitude, beauty and majesty of the Grand Canyon. They are not a huge tour service and their advertising budget is limited. It is a family run business and they pride themselves on the service they provide. In my view, there is no other tour like it in the Grand Canyon and should be designated a "Fodor's Choice" in their guide book of the Grand Canyon.

We had a wonderful tour with Dora at Canyon Daves! My boys 5 and 9 really enjoyed it, I was a little worried that they would think it was too much education but my 9 year old said that what he learned from Dora was the best part of the trip. By the end of the trip my 5 year old could not stop hugging Dora and wanted to know if she was coming hiking with us the next day. We never would have learned as much on our own and the trip out to the India reservation is not something we would have done but it was a good experience. Thanks again Dora for the tour and all of the great information.
