My friends and I were planning a weekend trip to Atlanta, and when looking for things to do we though a good tour could be fun. We looked at a couple of different options, and settled on this one. I’m SO GLAD we did! There were 21 of us in the group, and we never had to wait for anything. At each stop, the table was waiting for us and the food was brought out immediately. The food was AMAZING! I got an opportunity to try things I never normally would (hello shrimp and grits), and now I can’t wait to try them again and again. The portions were huge for a food tour! They weren’t small sizes, and we all left with happy bellies at the end 😉. Learning about the history of Atlanta was so neat, and walking through Oakland Cemetery is something I would love the chance to do again. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place that a person could spend hours in. The best part of the tour was our guide Lauren! She clearly knew what she was talking about, had a fantastic personality, and most importantly did NOT sound like a taped recording of someone who has given the tour repeatedly. She made it fun and interesting and really just made it the perfect afternoon for our large group. I HIGHLY recommend this tour, and if you can, request Lauren. I’m including pictures from the day. None from the cemetery, but the things we ate/drank. First stop we had shrimp and grits (OMG! I’ve already been on the hunt for a copycat recipe to force on my family) and fried catfish and okra. All wonderful. Next stop was a beef short rib sandwich with pimento cheese. SOOOOOO good! We also had a drink that she called summer in a glass. I’m not a big drinker, but I really liked this. The next stop was for two small drinks, a small beer and a small cider. I LOVED the cider. We also got a drink to go, I chose the sparkling water which was nice and refreshing. The next stop we got a taste of Nashville hot chicken and sweet potato fries that had a brown sugar and cinnamon glaze. AMAZING. I wanted more. The last stop was to a cute little bake shop for the best chocolate chip cookie and an apple pie galette. It was all so good. The tour was timed perfectly to not get too full too fast.

I am so glad that you enjoyed your tour through Grant Park and beautiful Oakland Cemetary. We loved hosting your group. Lauren told me that you all were so much fun!
It still tickles me to hear that people have never tried shrimp and grit and I am so glad you were able to take away that experience and hopefully spread around the love we have for that must try southern fare.
Thank you for your amazing review! We loved having you all!!
