We have been on a number of trips whale-watching, but this is the first time we were accompanied by two naturalists who helped us truly understand what Orcas are all about, and explained the research going on at the University of Washington including the use of dogs to hunt for Orcas.
Imagine our surprise when we saw an article on the front page of the New York Times this week, days after taking this trip, explaining Buster, the research dog's role, in Orcas research!
We found the boat's captain informative, and thoughtful, in divining where the Orcas might be traveling, so we got to experience some wonderful sightings.
