We spent a full day aboard the sailing vessel Sarah, crewed by Captain Nate, Rose, and Vikash. We sailed out into the beautiful, clear azure water, and moored close to a reef. We saw an abundance of sea life at the snorkeling area, where we stayed for about an hour. There was only one other smaller vessel and an adjacent buoy, so there was lots of room to explore.
After snorkeling, lunch was prepared for us and served on the boat, and the “bar” was open with free-flowing wine, beer, and soda. The next stop was a beautiful sandbar where the sand felt like baby powder in waist-deep water. We spent some time swimming and relaxing, and then everyone who wanted to kayak boarded tandem kayaks and paddled to a mangrove island. We kayaked through a channel in the mangroves, and saw more fish and birds. Rose and Vikash were our engaging and informative guides.
The entire day was a slice of paradise. Nate, Rose, and Vikash were fun, friendly, and personable, and really turned up the hospitality for all aboard. But it wasn’t a booze cruise / party boat situation - they were responsible and kept us informed about the status of marine conservation, ensured our safety, and made the trip educational as well. It was a great crowd of people to hang out with for the day. They even let me request a song to torture my sister-in-law for fun!
10/10, highly recommend, and I’ll definitely go for another trip with them!
