Your half-day cruise from Key West starts at the Opal Key Resort Head out into the waters of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll enjoy a guided kayaking tour through the mangrove habitat and go snorkeling in the clear waters of this protected environment. Your guide provides instruction for kayaking and snorkeling, plus tells you a little about the history of the area. Use of all gear is included, as well as snacks and beverages on board.

We all had an awesome time on this sailboat/snorkel/kayak excursion! We took the 4 1/2 hour morning trip on March 25, 2021, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM. The scenery during the entire trip was gorgeous! Mary the captain did an excellent job, as well as did her two crew mates! Captain and crew were very attentive, and also very informative, standing up and giving us an interesting history lesson about Key West during the trip, which was unexpected and nice! After sailing for about an hour, we stopped and did snorkeling and kayaking, for about an hour each. Captain and crew were very skilled and professional both in handling the snorkel and kayak equipment themselves, as well as giving us proper instruction on how to handle the equipment, both when disembarking the vessel before each activity, and re-embarking the vessel after each activity. Our crew member guide during the kayak trip gave us a lot of interesting information about the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, as we paddled through and around the mangrove forest, and was also very knowledgeable about all the many different types of birds that we saw along the way. There were lots of snacks, soft drinks and beer included with the trip, as well. Overall, it was an excellent way to spend 4 1/2 hours on a beautiful day in Key West, and I highly recommend this company, Danger Charters, for this excursion!

We completely loved our half day trip with danger charters! I wish I remembered all the names- captain Tony, Camille, Logan, and our favorite from Monticello whose name I didn’t catch. I traveled with my 17 and 19 year old sons and this was a perfect mix of activities for us. Gorgeous boat, too! Weather was perfect (84 during day) but I’d recommend bringing some layers for the return trip which was windy and cooler for an amazing sunset. We docked at about 8 and were able to grab a really nice dinner in the area, the dock is in a great location. I really liked how the guides/sailors took time to get to know each person on the boat. It was a very low key, low pressure, easy and fun day! Our favorite activity on our key west vacation, hands down.

I come to Ke West once a year with my 2 children. We do a trip each year we come to learn more about this beautiful key. This was hands-down our best experience here. From the moment we boarded each of the guides took care of the guests. I loved that this was a small group excursion. The snorkeling was amazing and the kayak portion was extremely educational and serene. The crew does an amazing job making sure everyone has an incredible experience. I would definitely recommend this trip if you’re coming to KW.
