Your half-day cruise from Key West starts at the Opal Key Resort Head out into the waters of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll enjoy a guided kayaking tour through the mangrove habitat and go snorkeling in the clear waters of this protected environment. Your guide provides instruction for kayaking and snorkeling, plus tells you a little about the history of the area. Use of all gear is included, as well as snacks and beverages on board.

There were several features of the tour advertised that did not happen such as watching sunset and actually kayaking through the mangroves. The wind was high and the sail out was scary to say the least. I think that some of the issues were not controllable by the crew but still led to a subpar experience. We ended up snorkeling in an area where we couldn’t really see anything at all. Not sure that I would actually do this tour again

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry we didn’t meet your expectations, but we’re glad you were able to come out on one of our excursions. We do our best to watch an unobstructed view of the sunset, however sometimes we’re involved in activities of snorkeling or kayaking that plays a factor in this. We do realize it maybe windy for some during different times of the year. November was an unseasonably windy month, however for avid sailors it made for an enjoyable experience. One thing that is pleasant about our trips is that we always stay in calm water even when it’s windy. Where we sail to were able to hide from the wave activity. Our crew does the upmost to make sure all our guests have an enjoyable experience in a variety of conditions. We hope that if you’re ever in Key West you give us another chance. We booked last minute for the half day snorkel and kayak. We were not planning to do the kayak portion but ended up doing it and really enjoyed it! From start to finish the staff, captain and crew were friendly , entertaining and helpful. Brian the captain seemed super skilled and efficient, he was also friendly and funny, made us feel really good being aboard. Joe and Emily made a great team throughout the cruise and getting us in and out of the water safely etc. Perfect level of interaction and joking with all the passengers. Really made everyone feel welcome and light. Emily led us on the kayak portion and her knowledge and information about the mangroves was really cool. We felt super comfortable and confident in everyone's skill. The equipment was all great. Sunset and drinks after was perfect! actually had a much better time then we even anticipated. A++
