Your half-day cruise from Key West starts at the Opal Key Resort Head out into the waters of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll enjoy a guided kayaking tour through the mangrove habitat and go snorkeling in the clear waters of this protected environment. If you can’t afford to charter your own snorkel trip this is a good one to take. It’s only about 20 passengers total, and far less cramped than the corporate snorkel boats like Fury. Crew and guides were knowledgeable and helpful. Great snacks like fresh fruit cut on the boat were served along with drinks and other snacks. We took the kayak and snorkel trip - kayaking was boring we didn’t see much but our guide did his best to tell us about the birds, mangroves, etc. and answered all questions. Nice job there for what he had to work with! We were taken to a snorkel spot that was private and didn’t have many other boats present (maybe one other). Watching the sun set as we came back was also lovely. Somehow a random local woman with way more than one screw loose managed to be one of the passengers - no idea how she afforded this. I suppose they can’t exactly screen passengers for being gonzo nuts but this woman took way too much of an interest in our kid, which wasn’t great. My husband and I didn’t make a big deal of it since she was in poor health and we could have thrown her overboard if she attempted to do anything weird to kiddo. Said lady also had a dog that attempted to eat half the passengers, including a small child. All other passengers and crew were lovely, but I’m taking off a star due to the ability of riff raff to attend/afford this trip (this may be the result of a discount offered to locals) - this kooky lady definitely would have upset/bothered some parents and she made the folks on our trip noticeably uncomfortable. Weirdos are entitled to go on snorkel trips, the issue was her inappropriateness with our daughter. Hard pass. If you want guaranteed no weirdos go for a higher price point.

So far this has been the highlight of our holiday. The crew Rachel,Sean and Derek where awesome very friendly and knowledgeable.It was the first time my wife and kids had done snorkelling and kayaking and they loved it thanks to the crew they made them feel at ease.We highly recommend this excursion and hopefully will be back one day. Once again guy's thanks for making it a memorial day.

These folks did a great job. We'll definitely come back and used their outfit again. They took us to some great snorkeling on a reef, kayaking around a mangrove and sailing to and from (sorta, lol). They are extremely knowledgeable about their area and incredibly informative, too. Molly knows so much about mangroves, I'd swear she grew up in one. Matthew was spot on about snorkeling and Brian was just cool as hell and a great guide. It was a pleasure to spend part of our 25th anniversary with them for a day.
