Your half-day cruise from Key West starts at the Opal Key Resort Head out into the waters of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge, where you'll enjoy a guided kayaking tour through the mangrove habitat and go snorkeling in the clear waters of this protected environment. Your guide provides instruction for kayaking and snorkeling, plus tells you a little about the history of the area. Use of all gear is included, as well as snacks and beverages on board.

My best friend and I did this and it was so much fun. The crew was beyond amazing. I actually got seasick but they went above and beyond to help take care of me. Eventually I was able to get my sea legs and enjoy the snorkeling and kayaking. The kayaking was my favorite part. Our guides were so knowledgeable about the vegetation and the wildlife. The boat was beautiful and the not overly backed like many other excursions we saw. I would definitely do this again.

Our three knowledgeable and friendly guides (Brian, Molly, and Matthew) did everything - navigate, pour the wine, prep the snacks, help everyone gear up, identify the wildlife, and share local tips on dining, etc. The half-day trip was well-worth the price and one of the highlights of our vacation in Key West.

Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation. We had an excellent time on this excursion! Captain Tony and crew members Rachel and Sidon were the perfect host/hostesses. Professional and friendly and just great all around. There was also a trainee but I can’t remember her name, but she was great as well. We set sail on time after a very thorough and informative safety briefing. Capt. Tony keeps it interesting and funny. Upon hitting the open water we were treated to a brief but very detailed history of the local waters and of Key West itself, complete with chart references. At this point the drinks also started flowing as well as the fresh-cut fruit tray. The pineapple was delicious. The first thing we did was snorkel. I didn’t get to enjoy it 100% because I could not get a good seal on my mask because of my beard, so I just swam back to the boat and floated in the open crystal clear waters with my wife while enjoying a beer and talking to the Captain. Once snorkeling was over we headed towards the mangrove islands for the kayak portion of the tour. They split us up into two groups. Ours was headed by Sidon. She was great pointing out all the wildlife and details about the mangroves, etc. When we got back to the boat they let us relax a bit in the water with some drinks while we waited for the second group to return. When they returned we loaded up and headed back to Key West. More drinks, more fruit, and some salsa and chips as well. The whole excursion takes about 4 hours total. We had a great time and the price is just right. This is a very easy-going excursion. It’s great for both daredevils and chickens alike. The crew is extremely professional and they look after you very well. This is one we will definitely do again when we return. If you’re looking for a good tour or excursion and like the water and boats then this is one you don’t want to miss!
