My mom and I had a great time on the Sip and Savor food tour in Santa Fe on March 4th. All the places were great and distinct - I wish we would have had more time at the pub and the option to purchase drinks and maybe a bit less at the Cheese Shop although it was wonderful!. Quite a bit of history on the tour - you can actually just wait for it here instead of taking the tour at the Palace of the Governors. I wish we had stopped in the Loretto Chapel - the tour went long an extra hour! and we didn't have a chance to get there before it closed at 4:30pm. Loved the stop at Sazon - the chef is delightful and a true treasure of Santa Fe - we were happy to spend the extra time as his guests. This is a great experience for those visiting Santa Fe or even for locals!.
The tour was basically as billed, but the proportion of food: alcohol was way out of whack for me. Too much tequila and sparkling wine, too little solid food. Everything was very good, though, and Joe I think that was his name, owns Wander NM was friendly and knowledgeable. Great stop at the cheesemonger!
Santa Fe 'Sip and Savor' Food Tour lived up to our expectations. Our guide, Joe, was personable, knowledgeable about the history of Santa Fe and kept the tour moving at a pleasant pace. The places we visited were varied and the food and drink excellent. Also, he was well prepared, having hand warmers for those of us unprepared for the cold!
