I was in Gettysburg for 3 days, and decided to take The Civil War Ghosts Walking Tour. I brought a ticket for the extended tour.
PROS
- The tour lasted about an hour and a half. Basically covering an area between the Cemetery and Downtown Gettysburg.
-Austin/Justin the guide knew a lot about Gettysburg ghosts and paranormal. It was interesting.
-The guide showed us pictures of what previous guests on the tour spotted as far as “ghostly” sightings.
CONS
- The tour group was pretty large for a walking tour. About 20 people. That made it hard to hear the guide speaking at times because of the large group and the nearby traffic noise.
- Justin wore a t shirt, shorts and flip flops. All of the other tours I saw, the guide was wearing Civil War period clothing. A more authentic “ uniform “ would have made things more interesting, and result in perhaps better tips for the tour guide.
Overall, I found this tour to be interesting and something fun to do on an evening in Gettysburg. Next time, I will try a different tour company, and I will compare tours..
