Initially we were misdirected by Roberts Hawaii Host. Once on the bus things began to level out. Saga began with the bus breaking down after the mechanic came & restated the obvious a replacement was sent. The A/C made lots of noise but no cold air. Road construction delays added to the time we lost. Trying to be understanding we rallied our spirits & was informed we weren't going to the lava tube or blacksand beach but would be stopping at a candy store. We had plenty of time to see those things but the driver had a doctors appt he couldn't miss. While I realize these things were unavoidable a driver who could have finished our tour would have been much appreciated. I am asking Roberts Hawaii to offer at least a partial refund. $154 to ride in an oven to Volcano National Park & back seems extreme

The driver was very informative and did a great job. The first bus we were on broke down (this happens) but the second bus was constantly having trouble. The check engine light and engine temperature light kept coming on. The air conditioner was not working well on the bus so it was very hot. The replacement bus seemed to be falling apart and the air conditioner filter screens were plugged. We were so excited about this tour but mechanical mishaps put a damper on the day. I felt bad for the driver having to make apologies.

Excellent guide who provided a ton of information about Hilo and the Big Island. Pick up was right at the cruise terminal, so it was super easy to get on board.
