Had a great time going on a boat tour of Newport Harbor with Kathy as our guide and driver. She was very welcoming, ensured we were at ease by explaining accepted driving conditions, and kept us engaged and entertained. We brought food and drinks and enjoyed a relaxing tour while Kathy pointed out homes once lived in by famous people, and learned a bit about Orange County history at the same time. The time goes by quick, wish we could have just gone a little longer.

I booked Kathy as a guide for a harbor tour with family visiting from out of town. Best decision, ever!!! I had experienced the harbor in a duffy boat driven by friends years ago. However, this recent trip was a wonderfully different experience having Kathy guide us and tell us about the scenery. She has extensive knowledge of the history of the area, and is also up to date on current occurrences around the harbor. We heard so many fascinating stories of the land and the various residents. We also had the bonus of seeing seals swimming in the water, and also a beautiful bird that hitched a ride for a short time. I also really appreciated Kathy, because she shared a lot of helpful tips both to prepare for the tour, and also for other things to check out near the harbor. Last, but not least, another bonus of hiring Kathy was that she eased the fears of my whole family, who were nervous about being on the water. She was very patient, understanding, and also was an excellent driver! Everyone quickly relaxed. In fact, my family ended up enjoying it so much that they’re now raving about the trip to everyone and they’re eager to return for another trip with Kathy. I overheard my father tell other relatives that it was the best boat tour he had ever had. I’m so grateful to have this lovely memory with Kathy and my family to last a lifetime!

This was a first class outing! Bring your favorite food and drink for a totally unique experience that you can make your own! Captain Kathy was super knowledgeable about the history of Orange County, Newport Beach and the Newport Harbor, and provided many fascinating anecdotes about the area and the people of today and of the past that aren't generally known, interjecting frequent humor and obscure facts into her commentary. She was also knowledgeable about the local wildlife that we saw plenty of along the way. My group picked a time shortly before sunset and enjoyed glorious skyscapes that California frequently offers. Besides her knowledge, she was a skilled boat captain with an uncanny ability to 'read the room', or in this case the boat, and made our group feel totally comfortable and at ease throughout the tour. After boat and passenger safety, her first priority was to ensure a memorable experience as we meandered through the harbor. Recommended as a must for history buffs and a total relaxation experience for anyone wanting to temporarily get away from it all for locals and a true memory for those visiting the area for the first time!
