There were 5 of us that took a private tour with Bud. He was an amazing guide, good humour, great knowledge, and even took us to a couple of hidden gem spots that we would have never even got the chance to see or know about otherwise. This tour was absolutely amazing and he gave us an incredible and memorial trip! If you’re considering going to the Hoover Dam book with these guys!

'Mr G' was our driver for the day. What's a lovely man. Stopped at a number of places for photo opportunities including Lake Mead, which was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Managed to fit everything in, except a trip to the cafe, so maybe another hour would have been nice. Was a great trip and would recommend, just for the views alone.

I'd done a tour with a different company the day prior that included a quiet drive out to Boulder City from the Las Vegas strip, but the ride provided by Sweetours was instead very informative and enriching. The driver, Bud, tapped into an apparent wealth of personal experience and knowledge to show us a completely different side of Las Vegas, with a couple of stops along the route to further enhance the experience. He answered every question with solid facts, and provided a lot of color by explaining how and why all the areas we drove through (and some we could see at a distance) were changing over time, for better or for worse. He had a soothing Bob-Ross-style tone that was very easy to listen to and learn from, and he challenged passengers to think though and notice things that he spoke about. This guy is top-notch! It was my only tour with this company, so I don't know if all the drivers are that good -- maybe they are -- or if I just got lucky. I stayed at the Westgate, which isn't "on the strip," but there was no extra charge for being a little farther away -- I was just the last to be picked up and dropped off. Prior to my pick-up, I got a couple of calls from the company's office informing me first of a pick-up delay, and then an update saying that they were getting back on track. The car arrived only about 5-10 minutes after the planned pick-up time, and I was very impressed that they kept me in the loop! They also rescued a couple of people who were stranded at the dam by a different tour company, and I thought that spoke volumes of their level of service. There are only a couple reasons this didn't five stars in my book, and they could all be related. First, the tour was quite a bit shorter than advertised (hotel-to-hotel in 4.5 hours instead of 5.5-6). The elevators at the dam weren't working, which was disappointing but also out of the tour operator's control. (Bud was refunding $5 of the tour price for the inconvenience.) I suspect they didn't know about this ahead of time, but I wonder if it caused the shortened trip... Regardless, though, I really would have liked a little extra time at the dam -- maybe just another 30-45 minutes. As it was, we had two hours, which left enough time for the visitor's center and a walk back and forth across the dam (stopping frequently for pictures), but it would have been nice to have additional time to either go up to the spillway on the other side, or just stand there and admire the awesome views a little longer to soak it all in. It just felt a little rushed to me. Based on my experience, I'd recommend this tour to anyone -- business, solo, families, young, old, etc, even with the current time restrictions... but add a little extra time at the dam and it would be perfect!
