Hoover Dam

This exciting tour commences with complimentary hotel pickup. As you make your way to the Hoover Dam, you will travel past Lake Mead, the second largest man-made lake in the Western Hemisphere. The tour will provide you with the opportunity to walk on the top of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge. Following this stop, you will cross over the top of the Dam with closeup views of the architecture, penstocks and Arizona Spillway. When the Hoover Dam was completed early in 1935, it was both the world's largest electric power producing facility and the world's largest concrete structure, weighing a total of 6.6 million tons. You will discover a multitude of facts on your tour about this impressive structure.

Hoover Dam Bypass

The Bypass Bridge opened in 2010 stretching nearing 2,000 feet long and 840 feet above the Colorado River, making it the second highest bridge in the United States. Ample time is provided for souvenir shopping and purchase of food items at the Dam restaurant. This is truly an exciting and very educational experience that will provide you with a thorough overview of this fascinating, nearly 90 year old, civil engineering wonder of the world.

very nice tour, we were picked up from our hotel around 7:30, we were given a snack on the bus (juice, muffin fruit..), we pass through boulder city, we stopped first at the bridge and nice view / pictures of the dam, we had another brief stop on the Arizona site for pictures, then went to the dam, we joined a guided tour and went down , saw the pipes, the generator room then went back up, we spent about 2 hour at the dam, the guided tour was about 35 min, the rest was free time, walking around, go to the observation deck, we had lunch (on our own) before going back, the tour took about 6 hours, it was excellent, weather was really nice, our guide Bill was excellent, very knowledgeable and did an excellent job

We (myself, my brother, sister and father) went on the SWEETours trip to the Hoover Dam from Las Vegas on 12/11/23 and it was a great time! Our host was Earl, he was very accommodating as well as educational and informative of the Hoover Dam and the journey to and from! The tour starts with a pickup from the hotel (we stayed at Excalibur) at around 7:30 am, and we were back at about 1:30 Pm (6 hours total). Waters and snacks were provided, and the van was very nice. We were able to spend time on the Pat Tillman bridge, the gift shop and visitors center, and a tour of the power plant, all so beautiful to see. If you are staying in Vegas I would highly recommend booking this tour with SWEETours, you will not regret it!

Bill was my guide for this tour on 11/9/23. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Dam and the surrounding area. As an almost lifetime resident his perspective of the area as we were driving to and from was great! I would happily take another tour with Bill if I come back to Las Vegas!
