This exciting tour commences with complimentary hotel pickup. As you make your way to the Hoover Dam, you will travel past Lake Mead, the second largest man-made lake in the Western Hemisphere. I took the tour to Hoover Dam on Thursday October 19th, bus no 22 with Bill. Hoover Dam has 3 tours according to the Hoover Dam Official Website-A $30 (which is a guided powerplant tour) which is approximately an hour and half, a $ 15 tour and a $10 tour. I had taken Sweet tours several times in last 2 years and had great experience. I had specifically asked phone agent if I would be able to do the guided powerplant tour with the phone agent and they replied “yes.” I did not realize that the $30 tour was not included or the tour as they would not have time for the powerplant tour. Instead we were given the $15 tour ticket. I spoke to driver Bill on our way to Hoover Dam if there was a possibility of me paying for $30 tour on my own and doing it, to which he said there would be no time as buses would leave back for Vegas City at noon. I do not understand why we are taken to scenic locations, Lake Mead tour and Hoover City tour when the purpose of this tour was a Hoover Dam tour and time is wasted. Rather Sweet tours can arrange to have the bus sent directly to Hoover Dam and visitors can do the entire tour of the Dam and not part of the tour. I was not too happy and did not offer any gratuity to Bill even though I am a very generous person and tip every tour driver generously. So my suggestion to anyone taking just Hoover Dam tours with Sweet tours or any company is to first check if the detailed $ 30 tour according to Hoover Dam website can be taken. Wasting time on scenic locations and city tours can be done once the entire Dam tour is completed.

Hi, Sorry that your are unhappy with the tour. The one you mentioned is not offer to tour operators. It is based on first come first serve to self drive visitors.

From the start our driver Bill was personable,welcoming. He did a running commentary throughout the ride, with many facts not just about the Dam, but Vegas and the towns around the dam. Continental breakfast was perfect for this early morning start. Hoover Dam was beautiful!

We were very interested in the tour of Hoover Dam and how it was constructed. Our guide, Bill, made the drive to and from the dam an educational experience. He was very knowledgeable and fun!
