I read reviews and decided the Old Savannah Trolley Tour of Savannah was the tour
my husband and I wished to do. Unfortunately buying tickets on our phone and finding their stops online was not an easy process and we ended up having to wait more than 20 minutes for a trolley from this company. I finally called the company to find out if a trolley was actually coming anytime soon. In the meantime six trolleys from a competing company did come past. We were finally able to board one with no one actually telling us what was going on as we did not board at the visitors center (didn't know that was even an option). When we arrived at the visitors center we were told we needed to change trolleys which was no problem. However, while doing so, we were told by Katie, who was the contact person for the tour and boarding of the trolleys for Old Savannah Tours, that we had to wait. I showed her our reservations and answered her question regarding tour stickers to which she VERY rudely told me she didn't care about "all that stuff you are trying to show me" (our reservations) and then told us to "go to the end of that line". well ok.
Needless to say this was extremely unpleasant and even more so when she was less than pleasant to others also waiting. Once boarding the trolly you are taken to another stop where you wait while all the other people who didn't pre-purchase tickets pay.Very inefficient so plan on any tour taking more than 90 minutes. Once the tour finally (!) started our driver/tour emcee, Hampton, was very informative and funny which made the tour itself very nice. I highly recommend finding the trolley he is driving. But I do hesitate to recommend this company in general. I do not know anything about Old Town Trolley Tours but I do know they has quite a few trolleys out touring so you definitely wouldn't have to wait for long to go on the tour.
