We really enjoyed the old Savannah hop on/off trolley tour. Our guide Gertrude was the best! And her driver Ethel.

We were delayed about 20 minutes at the start because there was only one person to verify each person's ticket as being valid. Once the tour started, we probably should have hopped off and waited for the next trolley to come along. Nothing against the narrator on our trolley, but he was more interested in movie references as they relate to Savannah than covering a lot of the historical facts about the illustrious history of Savannah. With there only being about 5 minutes between stops, there's only so much information that can be shared, and while the movie references where a nice touch, the tour did so at the expense of a lot of that other information. When we were heading back to our hotel with a different guide, we only then realized how much we had missed, and at that point, it was too late in the day to go back and redo the tour from the beginning. A tour like this should be fairly consistent from one guide to the next, and the fact that it wasn't, reflects on the training that this company provides to the guides. I'd probably look elsewhere for a city tour.

We apologize that you didn't receive enough of the history of Savannah during your first trip on the trolley. We allow our guides to create their own unique historical tour rather than read from a script. Many like this as it showcases personalities and provides a different experience with each guide. We are sorry to hear this wasn't the experience you had envisioned for the tour. We hope you had a great time while in Savannah.

The stories, the history lessons, the pride of their city was very entertaining. We learned a lot about Savannah on the tour. My suggestion, take the tour early in your visit to Savannah, I think it will allow to more fully appreciate this wonderful city!
