This was a good experience. I was the only American in my group Netherlands, Denmark, Wales, etc. so nice to travel with others and see NYC/America through their eyes. Our guide was knowledgeable and it was clear he enjoyed showing the sights and sharing the history. I was a bit disappointed that we wanted 20 minutes after our scheduled start time for a couple, even though the instructions clearly said be there 15 minutes early. Ironically, the same couple complained that the tour was going over scheduled because we waited for them and they were given directions to go back on their own so the rest of us could continue the tour. Some of the hills were challenging if you've not been on a bike for a while, but fortunately, none were too big. Great tour.
I booked through Viator which is a third party booking so the company that runs the tour, Bike and Roll, did not have a record of my reservation. Several phone calls and it worked out but Viator were unreachable. The bike tour is a blast.
If you want to see all the interesting sights and places in Central Park that you see in movies, this is not the tour to take - you MUST take a walking tour. This tour is just a leisurely ride around Central Park with a stop at Belvedere Castle, the reservoir and the fountain, not much more. Whilst the guides were excellent and knew a lot of history about New York and the Park, the sights and places I wanted to see were not included. If you want a bit of exercise and a nice bike ride, by all means take the tour. But if you want to really SEE Central Park then do a walking tour - I did that in the afternoon and it was immensely more satisfying and informative.
