We had a wonderful experience on the Intrepid. Not just because of the 'big ticket' items like the Concorde or Space Shuttle, which were, of course, spectacular, but because of exhibits like the recreation of the hospital ward aboard the Intrepid.

Amazing day had. So much to see and do. Although the aircraft are outside there is so much inside too, so perfect if the weather is too hot or too cold. I loved that there were employees/volunteers working on the ship that actually had been on it when it was in service and were happy to chat to you about their experiences. The space shuttle is also incredible and so much to see, read and interactive things. We paid extra to go on Concorde which was just incredible to say we went on this magnificent plane especially as there are very few around the world. As with all tourist attractions the food and drink were overpriced. We shared a drink and muffin to cut the cost down. Yes I would highly recommend this as a must to do in NYC.

It’s amazing that you can see an aircraft carrier an array of aircraft, a space shuttle, Concorde and a nuclear submarine all in one place! However, the Intrepid itself could be improved with more information displays or ways to bring the actual ship to life. The standard ticket is $33 but if you want to try any of the additional exhibits E.g. the Concorde tour these are all at an additional cost which would add up significantly. Overall it’s worth a visit but probably not a must see.
