Holgate Glacier

A towering tidewater glacier Visit either one of two spectacular tidewater glaciers, Aialik or Holgate. Like Aialik, Holgate Glacier is surrounded by steep cliffs, dense forests and towering mountain peaks. Visitors may see spectacular calving events as ice chunks break and crash into the ocean. Though rare, black bears have been sighted on the beaches in Holgate arm.

Wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery and wildlife! Excellent food. Note - suggest medication for those prone to sea sickness.

My son, brother, mother and I went on May 25th aboard Northwest Star boat apart of the Kenai Fjords 5 hour marine and glacier tour with dinner buffet. The experience was relaxing refreshing and exciting. We got to see alot of marine life like 2 whales several different birds, seals, and mountain goats. The dinner buffet was prime rib with salad and other sides the picture is below. It was cold but I managed to take a nap outside on the top deck in the seats. We traveled all the way to the Pacific Ocean and back. Miya was our Ranger Ecplorer that informed us of wildlife information and sites of glaciers as they appeared. It was NOT scripted. Safe ride and enjoyed the experience thank you.
