If you are concerned about seasickness, please note that this tour stays in the calm, protected waters of the Inside Passage and does not go out into the open ocean; large waves and rough seas will not be encountered
Guests must be able to navigate a 9-step boarding ladder to enter the vessel. Each step is approx 6" high. Guests are seated during the entire tour
Wheelchairs, strollers and walkers are not taken on board the boat; instead they are taken at the bottom of the boarding ladder and taken to a dry, secure area during the tour and returned at the conclusion of the tour

The Ketchikan Duck Tour is an Historic City and Harbor Tour, all in one. The 90-minute tour starts in town, going past several notable sites, which are narrated and explained by the tour guide. You’ll ride aboard the new redesigned Amphibian Duck Boat, which is an improvement from the 1940’s era vehicles, which were used in the beginning. After the town portion of the tour, the boat drives right into the Tongass Narrows, where one learns about the fishing fleet, and how to recognize which type, and the history of the Ketchikan International Airport. There is no food aboard, and no restrooms. Use the restrooms at the Tourist Information Building, and eat elsewhere. One will need to be able to climb a short ladder, 9 rungs, to board the Duck, and the captain and guide are available to help. Mobility devices are stored safely off the Duck boat, and are returned to the boarding ladder at the end of the trip. The seating area is covered and has clear plastic sides for viewing and photo ops, in case of rain. Dress warmly as if you were outside. Bring your camera!

Such simple fun. A tour around the town, then into the harbor. Driver Cp Tony and the guide Garrett were great. Their humor was playful and family rated. Garrett’s word-play received well deserved groans and laughs. The Duck was clean and comfortable. Great fun for couples, families, or solos.
