Tongass National Forest
After a dozen years of running kayak tours in Ketchikan, we're consistently surprised at the number of visitors who never set foot in the Rain Forest. Our E-Bike tour originated from a desire to get more visitors into this amazing rain forest. With almost 200 inches of rain annually, there really is no place as lush and unique as Southeast Alaska. The forest floor is bountiful with all kinds of Flora and Fauna and depending on the time of season its not unusual to see deer or or salmon swimming up stream. Port times for most folks are very limited, so we wanted to maximize your time by combining multiple activities on this tour. Plus we wanted to offer more than just a hiking tour anyway. So we made the trip to the trailhead half the adventure in itself. And how could we not stop along the shoreline of the sea along the way back? It's not unheard of to see Porpoises, Seals and Sea Lions or sometimes Humpbacks from the beach.

Electric assist bicycles are bicycles. You pedal them and shift gears like any other bike. They are very quiet in operation and are not classified as a motorized vehicle. However, when you want a little boost in your ride just twist the throttle and you'll quickly see why e-bikes are so much fun to ride. These bikes are powerful and seriously cool. We can cover more distance using e-bikes than conventional bicycles, you don't have to worry about keeping up, and they are the perfect way to get just the amount of exercise you're after. They are very accommodating with a step-through frame so you don't have to throw a leg over the bike to get on and off. We recharge our e-bikes with hydro power so they are a clean source of fun. Our tour usually max's out at 8 people, so no chance of getting lost in the crowd. Get out of town with us on your visit to Ketchikan this summer!

Our group met Devon at his office which is an easy walk from the cruise ship dock. He drove us out to his bike storage facility at a marina about 20 minutes away in an air conditioned van. He suited us up with helmets and rain jackets / pants as it was a standard misty day. Definitely bring gloves and glasses. He adjusted seats, made sure everyone was comfortable and provided easy to understand instructions on how to operate the bikes. If you've never ridden an e-bike before they're tons of fun and suitable for all ages. If you have children be prepared for them to ask "can I get one at home?". After 5 miles of riding Devon led us into the rainforest. Right off the bat there are beautiful waterfalls w swimming salmon. You'll be walking on a wood plank trail most of the way. He has a vast knowledge of just about everything growing out of the earth and living in the water which made the trip very enjoyable. Beautiful surroundings! We arrived at a gorgeous vista overlooking the ocean before turning back. On a good day you can spot whales & seals. Once we reached the marina we hung out with a few of the guides and Devon broke out some salmon w crackers and a few cold Alaskan beers. Exactly what we needed! We were returned to the dock in a timely and efficient manner. Devon is a great guy and an American small business owner who operates an excellent tour. Support him and have a fabulous time! Cheers

We loved our tour with Tim. He was very passionate about his job and it definitely showed. We had so much fun riding around on our bikes and the hike was beautiful. The Alaskan Rainforest was truly magical. This tour was unlike anything else we did on our cruise and it was by far the most fun we had. Highly recommend!

Can't begin to thank all the personnel of this company! My friends, my husband and I had a very positive an exciting experience! It was our first opportunity to use electric bikes and after traveling with Vermont biking tours for 8 years this was a very pleasant assist using the electric boost! We loved everything about the trip, our guide Derek and his assistant, the bike ride to the rainforest was exhilarating and the hike in the rainforest is like being in a fairytale! Our knowledgeable guides helped us appreciate the wilderness and wildness of this beautiful state. Highly recommend the adventure to all those who like biking and hiking!
