Florida Keys

From our sun deck, you will have a panoramic offshore view of the Florida Keys and can view the ever-changing colors of the Atlantic Ocean. Once we reach the reef, you will be able to observe the coral reef through our large viewing windows, which are large enough for everyone to observe the reef at the same time and are located along the center of the boat and installed flat so there is no distortion other than what nature creates. Everything you see on our tour is or was alive and the reef itself is built off of many varieties of living coral and teems with an assortment of sea life. Your tour guide will be able to point out all kinds of sea creatures which may include sea fans, sea plumes and hundreds of fish ranging from small tropical to larger species sought after by local fishermen.

The 45 minute trip out (7 miles) and another 45 min back left about 30 minutes to troll over the reef. The day and trip were nice. But, don't expect to see beautiful fish, plants, and coral. We saw some small fish and a few plants. Everything was in dull shades of green and grey. During the viewing, the host pointed out things and talked, which was informative. For me the trip was decent, but I can see how others would find it disappointing.

Sorry Mother Nature did not wow you during your trip however we do hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in the Florida Keys.

We were very disappointed in this attraction. After driving up from Marathon to this outing, we go out to the reef unable to see hardly a thing! As we are looking through the glass bottom, the tour guide explains how the wind over the last few days has stirred up the sand to where the visibility was extremely poor. "It happens whenever we have this type of weather " she says. What a money grab! For as long as this company has been in existence, I'm sure they know when conditions are going to be poor! They should have explained to people that it was not a good time to go out. Instead, they take your money and apologize when you get to the reef! Wasted afternoon, wasted money, on a very short vacation to the Keys. Shame on you!

We do not like to "Grab" anybody's money, yes we are in business to make money, we also try to inform guest what to expect out there, that is why we post a conditions report at the ticket desk, and we also include conditions in our pre- boarding announcement given the customer a couple of opportunities to not take the trip. While yes we have a general idea of what the conditions might be because of weather Mother Nature like to surprise us from time to time both good and bad. But no matter what we always try to inform customers what to expect. I am sorry if you missed the information.

We've seen this numerous times in the videos at National Park Visitors Centers. Seeing it through the glass bottom was not as good as the videos. The trip is 45 minutes out and 45 minutes back with nothing much to see. While the boat is over the reef for 30 minutes, everyone crowds downstairs around the two glass windows. It quickly gets very warm and stuffy. The guide talks a mile a minute for 30 minutes trying to get her spiel in during those 30 minutes. The seas around the reef were rough and people took Dramamine before the boat departed. Nonetheless many people began feeling sick and left and went upstairs to get some fresh air before the 30 minutes were over. Afterwards a few were still throwing up. I could have found better uses for the time and money. Oh, BTW, we went for the sunset cruise, but did not see the sun set.

Darrel, Sorry the trip did not meet your expectations, I would assume that you went on our 4pm trip pased on your closing comment that is part of our regular schedule and not considered a sunset trip, certain times of the year you do see the sunset on that trip from the end of November till about the first week in January, however we do run a sunset trip March thru August which departs at 6:30pm just FYI.
