What a waste of money. I took my grandchildren snorkling for the first time. Both are pretty good swimmers. Ages 10 & 11. Our boat captain was quick tempered and rude. His instructions were very vague about how and where to swim to the reef. All he would say is stay in front of the boat. Only 1 person on our boat got out to see the reef and that was the last 10 minutes we were out there. She was a certified diver and had been snorkling before. She told us that she wished there had been better instructions on how to get to the reef because she wanted to spend the whole hour there. So everyone else just went swimming with hundreds of jellyfish. Never will recommend this touring company.

First let me say Thank You for the review. We need feedback to fine tune and make our snorkel trip better for everyone. We are really sorry for your below par time with us, We have been doing this for over 30 years and strive to give our customers the best trip we can. Since discovering Tripadvisor we have been monitering these reviews and making changes to both staff and to amenities on the boat to address any poor reviews we get. We take them Seriously and are sorry about not providing you with the great trip we strive to provide. As far as the Jellyfish, this winter was a weird year for jellyfish out at the reef and not the usual. We are sorry about it and if we could control the ocean we would, unfortunalty we can't so work with the conditions we are provided from nature. We did not have any health issues from the Jellyfish, just a bit of a distraction. We train our captains to give a accurate run down of how snorkeling works and the techniques that help make it more enjoyable. We are sorry about this mishap with our crew, would you be able to email me privately ? Do you remember your crews names ? Also, We want to make it up to you if you ever make it back to the Keys. I will personally go out snorkeling with your family and show you a great time and private instruction on how to do it. We want you to feel spent your hard earned money well so there will be no charge for you and your family. We want to make you happy. Did not know where to go to snorkel at Pennekamp Park, so we called the service offered in the park itself. We got a total runaround, were told the tour may or may not go based on a required number of participants etc. We drove to the park, paid the $9 to get in , and checked in an hour early. The company would still not commit to going, stating it would be close, and to check back in an hour. In frustration, we called Sundiver. They said they were a definite go regardless of how many snorkelers showed up. We left the Park, drove to the office across the street from the park, took care of check in quickly, and at 3 PM we were on board a spotless clean boat enroute to the reef. The experience was a trip highlight, flawless service, and a great pre-snorkel safety briefing. I saw 2 large barracuda, jellyfish, and more fish than I could describe in crystal clear waters, and was allowed to snorkel until exhausted. I highly recommend this company, and avoid the Pennekamp Park services, who behave like typical government services and seem as though they dont care and are more concerned with getting off work than helping potential customers.

I snorkled Sat. 8/20. I had been watching to see if the weather was going to cooperate and when the day began sunny I immediately called Sundivers (as compared to our resort, Ocean Reef, Sundiver's price was $25 cheaper!) They were pleasant on the phone and told me I could get on the noon boat if I arrived by 11 to claim my spot. I appreciate not having to give the cc # before then and not be out the money if something happens and you don't make it!! My name was on the list when I arrived at their shop in Key Largo and it was an easy process to get my ticket for the boat. Then it was a three mile or so travel time down the road to begin the tour. We were given lots of instructions on the boat altho they need a mike or megaphone because my side of the boat could hear little because his back was to us. Anyway,all was still good and we were warned that we would see jellyfish and given some advice on how to avoid them. A couple of people did get stung, but I found the jellyfish were not near the reef but more near the boat. So it was key to stay where they weren't! All in all, a very good time although it would be nice to have snorkled at more than just one stop. I think for the price (and use their internet coupon) it's a good deal!!
