Guide Terii was funny and kept us engaged and it was fairly easy. There were people playing music and fire dancing kinda took away from the nature part of it

Daniel was our guide. He was friendly and made sure we got on the bus. There was a little confusion with TripAdvisor checkout saying that our hotel (The Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki) wasn’t one of the options for hotel pickup. My parents and I ordered an Uber to get to the pickup location but several Ubers canceled on us and we showed up after the pickup time and we couldn’t find the bus. I tried to use contact organizer through the TripAdvisor app but got no response. I ended up getting a call from Daniel saying he was at our hotel for pickup. He was genuinely surprised by the way TripAdvisor made it seem like we wouldn’t be picked up. He met us where we were at and took us on the trip. That meant a lot that he followed up with us to be sure we could be part of this tour! Daniel was a great tour guide and it was an amazing hike! It is very muddy at some points on the way up (and down since it’s the same trail back down the hill) and I was concerned for my parents going down but he took care of them and the whole group to make sure we all made it up and down safely. Keep in mind they will do hotel pickup in Waikiki even if it’s not listed and bring shoes you’re okay getting muddy and wet. I wore Nike Flex tennis shoes and was just fine and had no problem getting the mud off. I would absolutely recommend this hike! Great price, great tour guide, fun hike and beautiful views!
