Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

We reserved the half day tour in late June (a very warm June 30th). We were picked up at the hotel by 8:30 am and returned just after 2:00 pm. There were four in our group. Our guide, Greg, knew his way around some out of the way places. He was interesting and knowledgeable and very patient with some of us who were amateurs when it came to photography. He was passionate about the Lake Tahoe area which was evident throughout the day. This tour is definitely worth the $149. As an aside, Keith, the owner, stopped by at the beginning of the tour to meet us and see how things were going. I appreciated the extra attention and assistance provided by Both Keith and Greg. Thank you, Greg, for providing a phenomenal tour! Linda from East Coast

This is the best tour my husband and I have ever taken! Lake Tahoe is one of our favorite places and we have gone on Tahoe Photographic Tour 3 times so far. It has become the highlight of our vacations. If you have never been to Lake Tahoe and want a friendly, knowledgeable local to show you the best views, this tour is for you! If you are NOT a photographer and want some great photos of your family to send to your friends, this trip is for you. If you are a photographer and want some great advice and help you get some great shots, this trip is for you! Each tour we have had the pleasure of meeting a different guide. They have taken us to new places each time and have told us wonderful, interesting stories about the people and history of the area . This last trip we had the honor of going out with Keith and his wife. What a terrific time we had! They are so friendly and passionate, I now want to come up during the winter just to take this tour. If you can only afford to do one tour, this is the one that will make your Lake Tahoe vacation the best ever! Chuck and Susy K.

Just wanted to say what a great tour we had! This was our first trip to Tahoe for myself, my husband and our two college age kids. We only had 3 days in town and I knew we needed a guide to get the most bang for our buck in the area. Plus, I'm an amateur photographer and, like most family photographers, I wind up not being IN most of the pictures. This tour was the perfect solution -- get a GREAT tour AND have a professional take the pics of our whole family. Our guide, Mike, was amazing -- he met us at our doorstep and chauffeured us around on the "half day" tour that ended up lasting for 7 hours! He graciously agreed to begin the tour an hour early at my request b'c I thought the light would be better then for photos. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of the area and had boundless energy and a warm response for all of our questions. He showed us the best of Tahoe and we were all thrilled with the day. I was pleased that he didn't mind at all when I wanted to take my own photos too -- some professional photographers don't want you taking your own pics, but he really encouraged us to speak up about anything we wanted. Then when we got home and received the cd of the professional pics he took, we knew for sure we'd made the right choice. Book it with confidence. You won't be disappointed! Thank you so much to the owner Keith (who even joined us for part of the tour!) and his wife (so helpful on the phone-- really appreciate her suggestion to bring a change of clothes if we wanted so there would be variety in the pics) and deep appreciation to our guide, Mike. You all really made our stay in Tahoe the trip of a lifetime.
