Even though I'm familiar with St Louis Downtown and it's history, there is always something more to learn. This tour was a great experience! We started at Union Station, with details of the historic train station and unique architecture of the building itself. Each building, on the tour, had a unique history, many original details and stories. Our tour guide, Charlie, showed us several old photos, he had with him, to help tell the stories of several of the buildings, what they looked like when newly built or how important they were to the citizens of St Louis. He is also very informed of the history of many of the statues and fountains as well. Charlie also answered any questions the group had while giving us time to really soak in the details of what we just learned. The tour lasts 2-2.5 hours, is an easy pace and there is opportunity to take photos along the way. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that wants to know more about the history of St Louis and it's architecture. Due to the nature of this tour, I would not recommend it for small children since they could become bored or tired from walking. If you love history, architecture or both, this is the tour for you though!
