We took the Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend small group tour via Coexist West Coast. David, our friendly host and guide, took care of us right from the get go and led us on a day of adventure. The drinks and food were refreshing and tasty, prepared with homemade goodness. Perhaps the most noticeable aspect about this tour, after spending the entire day with David, is that it is tailored for those looking for a personal experience with a side of adventure. A stark difference from the cookie cutter tours one might be more familiar with, which are held in bigger groups or offered by larger tour companies. Better lookout spots and picture perfect scenery are what you get from this full day tour. Bear in mind that although the antelope canyon portion of this tour is led by a local tribe guide, the horseshoe bend and off the road locations are magical and you can expect a full day of picturesque landscapes and adventure. We would definitely look to Coexist West Coast the next time we are here in Vegas for our adventures.

My wife and I arrived at hotel around 2 am so we did not have much sleep before the trip. We met David our guide at the meeting point around 6 am and hit the road right away. We were the only customers so it was like a private tour. We slept quite often on the way to the Antelope Canyon, but we talked a lot when we were wake. There were two stops before Lake Powell. The pano photo showed how gorgeous the lake was. We spent about 20 minutes there taking photos before we left for Antelope Canyon. We waited about 30 minute at the gate before our 12:15 tour started. We ate some lunch before joining the group. David did not come with us, and we found that the other tour guides did not join the trip either. We were lead by the Navajo with a group around 10 people. There were other groups with way more people than us, and they seemed to come from the same touring group. The Navajo was very informative, caring and took great group photos. Well, he was the professional after all. Trust me, if you are not a professional photographer, definitely follow the Navajo’s instructions on camera/smartphone settings and only take pictures when he suggests. If you do this, you will end up with great photos and you will less likely hurt yourself. Enough said, the Antelope Canyon was the jewel of this trip. You also don’t need much sunscreen or water for this one-hour 1.5 mile walk, simply because you are underneath the surface. The Horseshoe Bend was 10 minutes away and we ate some lunch on the way. Horseshoe Bend was much much hotter and we brought one bottle of water for each of us (which was suggested at the entrance) to make us hydrated. The 15-minute walk was ok, but our shoes were filled with red sand. We stayed away from the crowd and took some pictures with GoPro, which was kind of a must-have here. David asked us if we would like another stop at the dam, and we chose to skip because it was even getting hotter when we left Horseshoe Bend. So we just took another stop for some ice creams and arrived at the hotel around 9 pm. I have to say the food and drinks that David’s wife prepared were so delicious that we ate pretty much all of them. The hotdog was not the hotdog we expected, but tasted way better. I kept drinking the smoothie all day and it was still cold at the end. There were also fruits and juice, and as much bottled water as we needed. David would like the trip be like going out with friends, and he obviously kept his words. It was like a VIP tour with family style food. I would suggest anyone who’d like to enjoy a day of excursion with joy and smiles.
