We really enjoyed our half-day trip with the boat. However, there are some things you should consider.
Firstly, I don't get why the cruise needs to start so early (7am), since this results in bad light at the Napali coast: looking at the cliffs equals looking at the sun, so you miss a lot of the beautiful details and it doesn't make for great pictures. For this reason, I would rather advice the sunset cruise, especially if photography is important for you.
Secondly, we chose this cruise because of the snorkeling option, but the snorkeling wasn't what we expected either. We loved it and even saw sea turtles, but the location was kind of weird. No cute bay/cove or beach, no clear blue water. The location they gave us was shortly after departure, somewhere on the south shore, far from the Napali coast and the water was dark blue. So if you love snorkeling, maybe find a cruise with more snorkeling in better locations.
We enjoyed the ride and cruising through the waves. We saw a lot of dolphins and the boat stopped so we could enjoy them. We only wished to have a bit more time on the Napali coast, since it is clearly the highlight of the trip.
Finally, the waves can be rough! Definitely bring something for your stomach!!
A big plus was the crew. They are so nice and helpful. They brought drinks around the boat because it can be different for us normal people to move around without falling. They also brought cookies at one point. And they have to deal with a lot of vomit from sick people. Kudos to them!
