Since I’d never been to Martha’s Vineyard before, we thought this would be the trip to do it. Overall, it was only ok because there was a lot of fog. The cost for my wife and I was $261 but since the ferry ride was $44 and the optional island tour was $80, this meant the bus ride from Boston to Falmouth (ferry to Martha’s Vineyard) was $137 which seemed expensive even though the ride was an hour+. The bus ride was not entirely narrated with continual information; maybe only 15-20 minutes in all each way. Once at Martha’s Vineyard, Tom was our driver and narrator on the island tour who did a fantastic job primarily because he grew up there and still lives there. The optional 3 hour island tour is a must otherwise you have to make your own plans on how to utilize the 6 hours there. Tom was extremely informative, which made the ride around the island worthwhile since there are constantly trees on the roadside preventing anything to see except when stopping at each of the six cities. All in all, one really has to stay there for several nights to enjoy the beaches and see what is beyond the roadside trees, that one does not see if just doing a bus tour. Visiting Martha’s Vineyard is not something I would do again. Maybe it’s really a place for the rich people to visit and get away to.

Thank you for the review. I apologize for the fog! I wish every day was sunny and beautiful but that is not the case here in New England. In my opinion $137 for 2 which means $68.50 per person round trip which in turn means $34.25 for over a 70 mile drive one way with commentary, snacks, bottled water and an island guide book is certainly not expensive. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed Tom's tour and I am sorry that trees got in your way. Martha's Vineyard is a beautiful place for all to enjoy either by spending a few nights or taking a day trip.Thank you again for sharing your opinion. Sincerely, Stephen M. We were lucky to have Elaine as our driver and Tommy as our guide. A full day and a lot of driving but well worth the effort. Flawless pickup in town and comfortable bus to Woods Hole with one stop. Ferry crossing easy and guide met us on the island. Good overview and history and lifestyle of Martha's Vineyard. Recommended!

Our day started at 6.15am when we got picked up from our hotel, which was much more convenient than hiring a car. Kristen our tour driver was very knowledgeable and was also a fun person to be around. The bus journey to Falmouth was good as it was nice to get out the city and see the countryside. We took the ferry from Falmouth which was about 40 minutes to Oak Bluffs where we met our island tour guide Anthony. Anthony was full of interesting stories and I would highly recommend going on the bus tour of the island as 6 hours in Oak Bluffs (given the weather) would have been far too long. The only improvement was it would have been nice to have longer at the two stops as we felt a little rushed and didn't get chance to round some of the shops we wanted to. We then finished the island tour at Oak Bluffs with 3 hours to spare, this felt rather long as there's not a huge amount there, however as we were out of season this may be the reason. Overall an enjoyable day out which I would recommend!

Thank you for the 4 star review and your recommendation! Anthony and Kristin are great guides and you are sure to enjoy yourself when with these two. When we planned out our itinerary we considered all options and felt the way our day is set up was beneficial to all of our guests. Longer stops would mean less time at the end of the day for an oceanfront lunch, picking up some souvenirs and exploring the amazing gingerbread cottages. Your input is greatly appreciated and will be taken into consideration. Sincerely, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc,
