South Maui Gardens

Experience the magic of South Maui Gardens' Hula Show, as you journey through Polynesia on Wednesdays and Sundays from 5 pm to 7 pm. Beginning at 5 pm, enjoy 30-45 minutes of traditional Hawaiian music during our pre-show. The pre-show includes live traditional Hawaiian music accompanied by a solo dancer. After a short intermission come journey with us through the Pacific. Enjoy classic Hawaiian favorites through mele, oli, and traditional hula as we honor our cultural stories. We’ll then take you to New Zealand, introducing you to the captivating songs and dances of our brothers and sisters of Aotearoa. On to Tahiti, the vigorous lively energy of our relatives in the south will enchant you with dances and songs of old and new. The final stop on this journey brings us to Samoa, where we celebrate the element of fire and the dazzling skills of fire knife dancing. We’ll then end the evening with 10-15 minutes of traditional Hawaiian music. Seating is limited, so secure your spot now!

Really fun luau! We enjoyed the fire dancing and the tour through Polynesian dance culture. Loved the food trucks onsite and the casual atmosphere. To note - there are a lot of picnic tables and even some moveable chairs so plenty of seating. If you have your own chair then worth bringing but for other tourists like us, no need to worry. The lei at checkin was a fun touch too.

We felt the magic of Polynesian culture through compelling music and dance. Located in South Maui Gardens in Kihei, this performance takes about two hours, starting with traditional live music and solo dancers. It's only Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. We attended a Wednesday show and felt it was intimate. The emcee is phenomenal! She is passionate and engaging for all ages. You will be taken on a journey through Hawaii and explore the traditions of New Zealand and Tahiti. The group performances share so much history with a finale of fire dance - he was super talented. And you will learn some dance moves! Purchase tickets online for 100$ per person (veteran and senior discounts available). Kids under 2 are Free. We noticed an option to add food but opted to try some from the many food trucks located at the gardens. A Luau is quite expensive to attend if you go to hotels on the islands, and this is a cost-effective way to enjoy the culture. Highly recommend if it's your first visit.

Very beautiful setting, great host and talented dancers. Fun night out for a family who doesn’t want the formality of a full luau. We really enjoyed it.
