We used City Sightseeing for our trip to Muir Woods only. We did the hop on hop off trip, as it seemed the best way to get to Muir Woods. Quite frankly, the price was ridiculous ($106 USD), but with a 45+ minute drive to Muir Woods, I figured it was the cheapest mode of transportation to get there, other than a rental car, and we didn't do this also because we read reviews that parking can be limited there.
The only man that does the tour to Muir Woods was an amazing host. I can't remember his name, it started with a "G". His driving was a bit scary going down the big, winding hill to the woods, but we got there safely and aggressive driving seems to be very common in the tourism industry. He provided entertaining information about San Francisco the whole way to Muir woods which was awesome, he was very very nice and a great guide.
Other than the price of it, my only other complaint about this tour specifically would be having to take the ferry back to San Francisco. You don't *have* to take it back, but the bus doesn't go back to San Francisco until 4:30 PM and that is a long day in the woods and/or Sausalito, especially because the tour starts at 9:00 with no other options. The lady in the office wasn't very professional when she was printing off our tour and ferry tickets, mumbling under her breath because she did it wrong, etc.
There are other options of doing Muir Woods for 1 hour with other tours, I didn't think it would be enough time. It is plenty of time, save yourself some money and just take a tour that has Muir Woods for 1 hour included. Live, learn and review to help others!
