We did the tour with the Breakers mansion, we learned a lot about the other mansions and the area of Newport. I recommend this tour.

We were informed when dropped at Marble House we were to be picked up in an hour but the trolley came at the end of 80-85 mins ( Marble house needs less than 45 mins to go thru). Most likely the tour timing clashed with lunch so we were left there for 80-85 mins. Thereafter while being dropped at Breakers we were told we will be picked in in 60mins at 10past 4pm. We had to run and finish seeing Breakers which is 4 times the size of Marble House as told to us at the entrance of the mansion. When we walked out there was no trolley from 4.15pm and we waited till 4.40pm… thereafter we took the public bus and paid our way back to Visitor Center and were late for return to Providence. Not to wait for us at the end if the tour especially since we were the only tourists at Breakers on that tour!! LLP Horrible!!! I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience with Viking Tours yesterday. This afternoon I looked at our GPS tracking on the trolley and the time frame that you have given is not quite accurate. The time from drop off to pick up with 63 minutes. Most guests feel an hour at the Marble House is right, sorry you thought it was too long. In regards to the trolley not being there at the time the driver had given you for pick up, I am sorry. He waited at the Breakers from 4:00-4:12 before leaving. Could the driver have waited a few extra minutes as you were the only passengers there, YES It is quite common for passengers to sometimes walk the Cliff Walk or walk back into town after the Breakers. That was not an excuse for leaving at that time and not giving it 5 more minutes considering you were his last passengers. Our apologies as we always aim to give our customers the Newport we know and love. We have been giving tours in the City by the Sea for 60 years. Once again our apologies and we will talk to our drivers about trying to alert people of times of pick up at the Mansions a little better.
