This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through May 1st. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights.

For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

Scott was an excellent guide! We missed the "big show" of lights the previous night, but Scott kept us highly engaged while we were looking for the possibility of seeing them...even with the extending of if they appeared the following night he would contact us. We absolutely loved Scott and his knowledge base and caring nature!!!

Scott is the operator of this tour and will reach out in advance to share his honest opinion of the atmospheric and space weather. Unlike atmospheric weather space weather is very unpredictable and we had a 50-50 chance of seeing aurora activity. We took the conscious gamble and we got lucky. The conversation with Scott on the road is enjoyable and informative. Even if there is no activity, while waiting, Scott will teach you so much about photography that you get your money's worth with just that. As mentioned earlier, Scott will be very honest about the chances, which speaks volumes. He also keeps the groups small to be more personable. Realistic expectation alert: even if the light activity is faint, the camera captures more than the naked eye can. Our photographs look very nice.
