Route 66 Experience

When we arrived we went to the restroom. It was disgusting. Stalls each had outhouses, no flushable toilets. There was no running water. It was very unclean. Exited that and was faced with a sea of political flags containing vile language directed at the President. And this is supposed to be a family place?? Also many Confederate flags. Basically it was a street full of gift shops. There were donkeys. That was about the most exciting thing to see, but you could see them on the roads leading in or out. Watch out for the crazy lady who runs around screaming at people who have dogs or tried to give the donkeys a carrot. The gunfight was impossible to see as people gathered around. If you were in the first couple of rows you might be able to see it. Kind of hokey. The roads in and out were a bit scary. Narrow with many hairpin turns and no guardrails. That being said, the views were awe inspiring. I refused to buy anything there. Politics should have no place in a supposedly family oriented place. Don’t waste your time or money.

First, I want to thank you for taking your time to write a detailed review of Oatman. I believe your review should be posted on Oatman's Trip Advisor review page as your review is not relative to what Desert Wonder Tours does. Desert Wonder Tours offers 7 exciting destination tours, including Oatman. We have no record of you taking a tour with us. We do agree with you that political displays, especially disrespectful ones towards the President are inappropriate for a tourist town that attracts visitors from around the world, all cultures, and political affiliations. We live in a time of extreme political polarities, to be sure. It is unfortunate that such displays are prominent when the visitor is there for an old west mining town ambiance and experience. We pride ourselves in providing 5 Star experiences, comfortable vans, safe and informed driver guides and exciting destinations and perhaps you will take a tour with us in the future to one of our other exciting destinations.
