From the moment we donned our orange jumpsuits, we knew this would be something exciting and it certainly did not disappoint. The captain knew just how much he could push his craft. He zipped around the fjord at top speed and whipped around close to the cliffs but we felt that he had complete control. The guide had lots of information and helped us spot seal lions and eagles. When my goggles flew off into the water, the captain managed, with no problem, to maneuver the boat and retrieve them. Most impressive of all, I noticed later that day that I had lost my cell phone and had no idea where. I was sure I'd never find it, but a couple of days later I asked at the desk in the cruise ship if anyone had turned in a phone. To my amazement, there it was with a note from the Ocean Raft Co.They had found it in the pocket of the jumpsuit and made the effort to bring it to the ship before it left. Thank you so much for caring and going above and beyond. You are great!

Prior to our Alaskan cruise, I contacted Ocean Raft Alaska to check on availability for the day we would be in Skagway. Fortunately, they had room for my husband and I and our daughter and son-in-law, so we made reservations. This raft trip was an early birthday gift for my husband, and he was stoked! We were met by Ocean Raft Alaska personnel near the cruise ship dock and then walked to their building where we donned bright orange waterproof suits. There were about 24 passengers on the raft along with a pilot, a naturalist, and an assistant. Seating on the raft is somewhat like riding a horse--you straddle the seat and hold on to a metal handle in the front. The raft ride was amazing--we traveled SO FAST, and the pilot kept doing 360 degree turns near the shoreline! We saw a number of beautiful waterfalls and eagles. The four of us agreed that this was an excursion we were glad we didn't miss!!! Tremendous fun!!!

We weren't exactly sure what our excursion was going to be in Skagway but we made a very last minute decision to do Ocean Raft Alaska. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but man oh man did this ride exceed everything that I ever expected! We were bussed to the headquarters by a fabulous worker named Tesa who told all the great places to eat and what to expect. She was great. When we arrived we were immediately thrown into the sexiest full body neon orange life jacket that I have ever worn and went down onto the "little Ferrari" and started our adventure. We had Captain Ashley behind the wheel and the beautiful Alyssa as our guide. As soon as we left the dock and Captain Ashley floored it I knew my family was in for the time of our life's! Captain Ashley was the best zodiac driver I have ever seen as he threw the pedal to the medal and always had me grinning from the excitement! Alyssa kept us informed on all the wild life we saw (bald eagles, seals, and even a whale!) she was the most amazing naturalist my family could have asked for. As we zoomed through the fiords with Ashley and Alyssa at our sides I felt bad for all the people who got suckered into doing the train ride. It was a gorgeous ride and a once in s lifetime opportunity! It's the only way to tour Skagway!!
