We're in town from Florida for a couple of days, and did the 11 AM Saturday tour with Tim. Our tour lasted almost two hours, and it's readily apparent how passionate and knowledgeable he is about the area's history (and Benjamin Franklin in particular). He injected just the right amount of humor throughout the tour, and his stories are filled with tidbits of information that you likely haven't heard before. As someone who has an appreciation for the city and it's history, his passion really resonated with me and I'd wholeheardedly recommend this tour to anyone. I'd also disagree with a previous review that stated that Tim had a strong regional accent. I didn't find that to be the case at all, and I thought he was very easy to follow.

On this tour we learnt a lot, laughed a lot, our guide was so knowledgeable about the city, history and related things to current affairs whilst being very engaging. You would be silly not to book the tour. We spent an hour and a half on the tour, it was so stuffed with information I should probably book another tour and absorb more information.

I agree with the many other reviewers who comment on our guide Tim's enthusiasm and his deep knowledge and interesting presentation of the local history. I would certainly be a repeat customer if the occasion arose. My wife and I found the tour marred by having a hard time to understand his way of speaking. He has a strong regional accent (which is fine if you are from this region!) plus a very rapid-fire staccato delivery that takes a while to catch on to for those of us from a part of the country where the speaking pace is slower. I don't claim that one regional speech pattern is better than any other, but I do think that a professional tour guide should be more aware of the differences that exist and give his out-of-town visitors a break in this regard. Under these circumstances, I would not recommend this tour for foreigners whose English is less than perfect, or for anyone with a hearing problem. Also, since the tour directions ask clients to show up 15 minutes early, it would be reasonable to ask the the tour leader do the same.

Hello, Thank you so much for your feedback. In regards to not arriving early, I sincerely apologize. There were extenuating circumstances that day and as a very small company (just myself) I was not able to get someone down there to greet and check in the guests early as we usually do. As for the pace of my delivery - my excitement about Philadelphia's history and my Long Island NY upbringing sometimes combine to make my speaking pace a bit fast. Usually this can be addressed during the tour - I am happy to slow down when asked but if not, I sometimes default to my normal speaking pace. We have had tourists from various parts of the world to whom English is a second language and we have been able to accommodate them. Thanks again for your feedback and I do hope you take another tour next time you're in town and we can provide you with the excellent service we strive to provide all of our guests. Thanks, Tim
