I took my teenage niece and 8 year old nephew on this tour. They wanted to do the tour and was extremely excited about it, I thought it would be a good idea since they claim to be kid friendly. I had also purchased a ticket for my aunt who ended up getting extremely sick, minutes after purchasing these expensive tickets, and could not do the tour with us. They refused to refund the tickets. The three of us still went on the tour. The tour was extremely boring. Not much information. A lot of the tour the tour guide spent engaging with people walking around Newport that was NOT part of the tour. I didn't over-pay for that. Going on a tour filled with tourists I would only assume the tour would start and end at the same location, seeing how most of the people on the tour are unaware of the area. I was wrong! The woman left us in a nightlife area, and told us to find our way back to the starting location because the tour was over. We ended up walking the wrong way and it took us almost an hour of walking to find the starting location where my sick aunt and the car were. My idea of a great tour is not wandering alone with two younger children at 10:30 at night around a bunch of bars in an area I'm not aware of! Not kid friendly, and a waste of money! You want a good experience here do the Fort Adams tour or cliff walk. Cliff walk is free and beautiful. And Fort Adams tour is informative, kid friendly, and worth the money!

Brian was our guide. Brian is an interesting and eclectic fellow who in addition to being a historical guide also does some ghost hunting on the side. We learned a lot of historical facts from the 90 minute walking tour that started in the Marriott hotel and ended in a 1700's cemetery!. Of course there are many ghost stories added in. To my 9 year old daughters delight, she took a picture of the Oldest Tavern Called Whitehorse tavern and captured a mysterious purple mist in one of the photos which looks like an abhorition. Also we took pictures at the Armory and found a moving shadow in our flash pictures that we couldn't explain. The Cemetery was creepy but a fun place to finish up the tour! we would highly recommend it for adults and children. Our tour took 2 hours since Brian packed it with information

I went on this Ghost Tour with a Groupon, I definitely would have felt robbed if had I spent the full $40 per person ticket which is outrageous for this tour. It was a gorgeous fall night in October and while it was fun and informative it still felt like it was missing something. The tour guide was interesting and engaging but needed a little work. My tour had about 50 people and the time spent passing around a picture and allowing people to take pictures took up a LOT of time that I think could have been spent with more history and more stories. Being a local and familiar with some of the more famous paranormal stories and legends of the area I was dissapointed at the missed oportunities for the tour guide to elaborate. On the flip side there was a lot of history our Tour Guide told us about that I wasn't aware of and found really interesting. The walk itself is a very easy, low impact walk as long as you know the sidewalks can be narrow and there are some cobblestone streets that are uneven.
