Spend the morning in the Banana River Aquatic Preserve, where you will have a good chance of seeing manatees, dolphins, schools of fish and all kinds of birds. Instructors are on hand so the tour is suited to all levels, whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler or kayaker. Paddle and kayak equipment, expert instruction, parking, and photos of the day are included. We depart from the amazing Brevard Veteran's Memorial Park & Museum, so if you have extra time before or after the tour, you can enjoy the museum.. admission is free!

Girard the owner, was super nice. We booked a kayak ecotour on the Banana River (Sykes?) river/lagoon. It was just okay. Jordan was our tour guide and it seemed like she could have known a bit more about the natural history of the region (it was an ecotour after all). I love to have a guide give as much info as possible (birds, plants, fish, ecology, geology....) and have my kids learn this stuff. She knew about manatees but not much else (like birds). Also, she was so far from us most of the time that I couldn't hear what she was saying. Also, this Sykes/Banana River lagoon is bordered on the SW side by a airport/run-way and it seemed like small planes were constantly taking off and landing - which took away from an otherwise quiet, peaceful paddle. Perhaps Girard would have been a better guide(?). Next time, I would probably just take the kids to a bridge or something to get a better look at manatees because they were hard to see from the kayak and the tour didn't go over much else than manatees. Maybe if you were on a board, it was a better tour. So, just okay.

The owner was very accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. Our tour guide was friendly, funny, and took us to see the manatees that came right up to the paddle boards. Tour guide even took pictures so we can enjoy the time more. Highly recommended. For beginners up to experienced paddle boarders. Quality boards.

First off, Girard is an amazing coach. We did 2 days of SUP surf sessions and i learned a ton. Girard judges a lot of surf contests and has a unique and insightful perspective to help you improve your surfing. I also fell in love with the board i demo'd and ended up purchasing it - a Riviera El Tigre. Girard's shop is beautiful and he has an incredible selection of boards available, whether you want a surf SUP or raceboard or touring board. He also does tours nearby - perfect launch site through the mangroves: protected and you're sure to see dolphins and manatees.
