Best part of Winter Haven is the Chain of Lakes. And the best way to see the chain is the Pontoon Lake Tour with Dave Brisco. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery. The boat is very comfortable. I lucked out with the weather which was overcast. But the water was smooth as glass and it wasn’t too hot. Even if the sun is out you can sit under the awning to get out of the sun. Dave also runs a Lake Pub crawl which I’m sure is fun too.

Just before arriving in Winter Haven for an extended work stay, I had joined a local Facebook group asking for recommendations on food, beer and places to see wildlife. One of the replies was from Dave and he had mentioned his pontoon boat tours of the Chain of Lakes. I reached out and we got a time and date scheduled for a 4 hour tour. We wanted to see the lakes, wildlife and learn about the area from a local’s perspective and that is exactly what we got! Dave shared so much knowledge with us throughout the afternoon it was obvious he knew his stuff! As it was Saturday, there were a lot of boats out and being a boat owner myself, it was so reassuring to see how considerate Dave was on the water with his etiquette and his friendly manner. We concluded the day feeling as though we were with friends and not just a hired tour guide. A wonderful experience we hope to do again!
