The guy talked a lot in an entertaining way about the things we saw. The bus was really nice, open-air and breezy. We met some people from ten states over, and they were nice. We did stop and look through a forest down a hill at some elephants that were allegedly visible in the zoo below, and we looked and looked and looked, but couldn't see them. If I had to guess though, I'd say they existed.
This was an excellent way to see the city of Portland. We stayed on the bus for one complete cycle and during this part of the trip picked the spots we wanted to explore further on the next round. The Rose Garden was spectacular and being an avid reader a stop at Powell's Books was necessary. The guides were very informative and it was a good overall experience.
The driver drove too fast and it was hard to even see what he was talking about. When you get off you have to wait an hour before another tram comes along. Makes for a long day if you get off too much.
