We've made several trips into NYC, each a mix of some "tourist attractions" along with exploring on our own. And while we thought of ourselves as somewhat experienced at getting around and seeing things; just how little did we really know became apparent once we spent 5 hours with Sheldon as our tour guide. Our last trip to NYC was to meet up with my wife's sister and her husband; virgin travelers when it came to seeing the Big Apple! While the rain dampened the experience somewhat, Sheldon made it an experience nonetheless! After booking the tour and making sure Covid wasn't going to impact our travel plans, my wife received a call from Sheldon and in a matter of a few minutes were chatting away like old friends. Sheldon wanted to know what we wanted to see; what we didn't. Who was in the party? What did they do? He wasn't going to give us a "canned" tour that he could do in his sleep. He wanted it to be an experience tailored to us. Pick up was right on time and both Sheldon and "G" (driver" greeted us and helped us pile into the large SUV. There was a full length sunroof but it wasn't much use as it rained for the first few hours of our tour. I couldn't even begin to list the places Sheldon had in store for us (on our list and his) but his knowledge of the city and the buildings and the overall history was in-depth. Definitely left us wanting to spend more time in the city and taking the time to explore some of the things more. Sheldon is a great guy; hilarious, conscientious and an open book when it comes to himself, his family and the city. G was great at navigating the SUV around the city and I can honestly say he didn't cause me to use the back seat brakes once during the time he drove us around! :) Even after the tour, Sheldon spent time chatting with my wife and sharing "favorite restaurants" close to where we were staying. I think she'd sign up to be a tour guide for him if she had the chance! She'd have a lot of work to do to catch up with Sheldon. He's like a walking encyclopedia (old school google or Siri for the younger generation!); full of information just waiting to be shared! If you're going to do the city, do it with Sheldon. Just try to pick a sunny day!

We called the business because we had a few questions about the tour, and Sheldon, the proprietor, answered everything and booked us on the day we wanted. We were extremely pleased with his friendliness, jovial personality, and keen interest in meeting our desires in the time allotted. He worked very well with his driver G, who was also very friendly and kept us moving efficiently. Sheldon’s in-depth knowledge of NYC history, restaurants, hotels, businesses and monuments is phenomenal. Most of the places we wanted to see were visited and accompanied by marvelous facts and history. Additionally Sheldon recommended places we hadn’t thought of like the view from Brooklyn Heights where we also learned about the Revolutionary War’s Battle of Brooklyn. Sheldon was a font of knowledge about New York. He gave us a sobering tour of the 911 Memorial and had so much information that most people would not be aware of. He even gave us tips and information on other things to do while we were in town. We highly recommend Best New York Tours and found it to be a very worthwhile way to spend the day. We saw so many more places and learned so many more things tailored to our wishes than anywhere else.

Outstanding introduction to NYC. Sheldon (guide) and G (chauffeur) were fantastic!!! My wife Sooz and I had a wonderful time seeing the iconic attractions of NYC. Their kindness, attention to detail, and incredible historical knowledge resulted in a first class experience. We highly recommend the 5 hour tour. Beware however that as a Red Sox fan, I learned that Sheldon was a Mets fan. Nobody is perfect. (Just kidding). Well done, Gents!!!
