On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals.

My father and I had a great time on this excursion! The helicopter ride was beautiful and we saw 6 moose. The reindeer were cute as well. During the down time between experiences, we went cross country skiing on their trails.

HELD HOSTAGE FOR THE WHOLE DAY! Signed up for the helicopter tour & reindeer walk. We were not given an itinerary with times for our activities beforehand, all we were told was to be ready for shuttle pick up in Fairbanks by 9:15am. We arrived at Borealis Basecamp around 10:30am and were then told our first activity is scheduled for 1:30pm! 4 whole hours to wait. There's not much to do but sit around and wait for your activities to start unless you like low quality snow shoes that will keep falling off or hanging around yapping dogs. Both of our scheduled activities were done before 3pm. Then we had to wait another 2 whole hours for shuttle pick up, which was late(!). WHAT A WASTE OF AN ENTIRE DAY ON VACATION - that's time we will never get back, time we could have spent doing much better things in Fairbanks. I would have chosen to drive to Borealis Basecamp ourselves if that was presented as an option for a discounted price. But that was never mentioned, nor were we told ahead of time that our activities were later in the day. I would NEVER recommend Borealis Basecamp to anyone for a day trip. Austin, Dominic, and Michah were cool though. Food at Latitude 65 was actually quite good. Still doesn't make up for being held hostage like that!!!

Heli ride with Mytty was great. The reindeers were friendly. Snow shoe rental is free. There are free activities while waiting for heli ride. Take note that the cafe and restaurant close at 3pm.
