Mr. Little Is without doubt the best impressionist in the history of Showbusiness. I I grew up following his career and admire his talent very much. My wife and I even went to his Tropicana show about eight years ago and We thought that he was still terrific even though he had lost a step or two with time. And so it was natural that while we had to be in Las Vegas for a meeting, we would take time to see him again. He has lost a few more steps in his ability to do live impressions, but we thought that he more than made up for that with the archival video tapes of himself over the years, some of which we had never seen.
The problem we had with his current show is that he allowed politics to overshadow comedy. Yes, this country is polarized, but one does not have the sort of appreciation for the degree of that polarization until one sees the degree to which Mr Little belittles Democratic politicians and voters “stupid” enough to vote for Democrats. Strangely enough, this would not bother me if Mr.
Little Gave equal time to mocking Republicans; I think as an independent voter that both parties deserve a lambasting and would be very happy if Mr. Little gave both sides equal time. It was inappropriate to refer to Bill Clinton as the “pervert president“ since perversion does not fall under the definition of sex addiction, and Mr. Clinton was a a sex addict not a pervert. If I wanted to watch Fox News or Newsmax, I would prefer to do so On my own TV for free, and not Pay for tickets to this politically prejudiced show masking for entertainment. I still think that Mr. Little was a great entertainer, but I believe that this act came out of his political beliefs, not simply because the audience he attracts are people that remember him from the late 1960s and most of whom would have a conservative bent And actually love this crap. It was disappointing to see the large percentage of persons in this audience who applauded this. Shame, shame on you for this act, and if I ever attend another of your performances, shame shame on me.
