We took our 6 and 8 year old for their first rafting trip and they had a blast. Our guide was great and took the time to tell us about the area and kept us out of danger but still made the trip fun and got the kids wet. The water level was low this year so the trip took about 2.5 hours and only got up to a class 3 but that was perfect for younger kids. If you want something more exciting you should definitely call ahead and check on water level and other rafting options. The company did a good job responding to emails and answering questions ahead of time as well.

My family has been whitewater rafting with Far Flung Adventures in New Mexico on the Racecourse, Taos Box and the Rio Chama . I can say that this company, which has been around since the 1970's, knows what they are doing and how to do it right! Our family made memories that will last a lifetime, I can't say enough great things about this company! There is no better place to take your family rafting in Taos, New Mexico on the Rio Grande or Rio Chama than Far Flung Adventures. Our guides were hilarious, especially Wild Bill, Hanko, Richard and Andrea--we tell all our friends and definitely be back!
