Skyline Drive
Skyline Drive is a scenic roadway in Cañon City, Colorado. It was built by inmate labor in 1905.[1] The road starts from U.S. Highway 50, with a gradual incline up the side of a ridge. When the road crests, it winds, climbs, and falls like a roller coaster until near its end, where a scenic outlook overlooks both the city (east) and the highway (west). The single-lane, one-way road rises about 800 feet above the surrounding terrain. There are no guardrails despite sharp drop offs, and the drive is about 3 miles long.
3
Temple Canyon Park
Temple Canyon road winds over the Royal Gorge anticline through the ancient hunting grounds of the Ute tribe. The canyon road passes "The Temple" but you have to know where to look. Fossils can be seen along the road with other geological wonders.

We did a Jeep tour with our guide Brandon and he was amazing he give us so much information and made us feel comfortable by preparing rain jacket for in case it rain and having easy conversations with us while also explain things we did not understand. When we come by here we would like to take another tour with Brandon as our guide.

My husband and I, along with our two teens (ages 14 &16), had an amazing time. Our guide, Brandon, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area and history, along with making our trip so much fun. Will, the owner, was so helpful prior to setting up the trip. He thoroughly explained each of the tours to me, what to expect, etc. Not only was the Royal Gorge amazing, but we went on the zip line as well. It's not as scary as it seems and the view from above the gorge as you zip line across is spectacular. I highly recommend Colorado Jeep Tours if you're thinking about taking an off road tour and seeing some of Colorado's beautiful sites that you would never see yourself. Also, the Colorado Jeep Tour company exclusively takes its guests through the back entrance of the Royal Gorge, which was an added plus.

We would give six stars if we could! What a great time we had! Tom was our guide and he is just a fountain of information about the area, wildlife and plants! If you do not have a good time on this excursion, then it is your own fault and maybe you should just stay home. It is well worth the money and we learned so much about the area! Yes there is rough riding, but you're in a Jeep for goodness sakes! You kind of expect that! We came to Colorado all the way from Florida. My husband is from the Denver area, and he said this is the best tour he's ever been on! Well worth the money! Next time we come we will be sure to book another tour with this amazing company! Thank you for the great memories!
