We've taken this tour years ago and it is still a great way to spend some time on the water, get some sun, listen to the narration at the beginning/end of the journey, and spend a few hours in Boston. Be aware that boats can easily sell out during the busy summer weekends as we found out. Technically, our voucher was not a reservation but, even though the 1PM was sold out as were other voyages, they took us aboard.
A great day out with a wonderful boat and first rate crew...as we arrived to board the ferry, the reception desk asked me to email them the voucher, so the only EBI even better if.. would be for Viator to let you know you're meant to email the ferry company with the voucher beforehand, to save last minute blips with wifi signal etc. but other an that this was a BRILLIANT day.
The ferry from Boston to Salem was a wonderful experience. The ferry arrived on time and featured a lively tour guide who provided an interesting commentary. We thoroughly enjoyed the return trip to Boston on the 7:00 p.m. ferry. The cityscape looked beautiful as the lights reflected on the water. This proved to be a fun and fast way to enjoy two cities on one day.
